"The Band's Visit"

An Egyptian Police Orchestra arrives in Israel to play at the opening of an Arab Cultural Center, dressed in full regalia and observing all military protocol. The stoic conductor is determined not to foul their excursion. Despite all his efforts, the band arrives at the wrong airport on the outskirts of a small forgotten Israeli desert town with no one there to greet them. Stranded and unable to contact their Israeli hosts, the band decides to complete its assignment.

An abstract drama told in two parts, this Thai film uses memories from director Apichatpong Weerasethakul's childhood to tell the story of his parents budding relationship. One centers on a woman physician at a small clinic, and the other on a male doctor at a metropolitan hospital, and both include semblances of his parents' courtship.

"The Kite Runner"

Based on the international bestseller, THE KITE RUNNER is set in Afghanistan. Amir and Hassan are young boys living in Kabul. As the Taliban take over, Amir escapes to America, where he starts a new life. But he is haunted by his cowardice and can't turn down a chance to try and make things right - even if it means risking his life.
