Joan Baez
Monday
Oct 18
7:30 PM
Clinton Performing Arts Complex
Gen Adm $50
KAC Mem $45 |
For over 50 years since she began her legendary residency at Boston's famed Club 47Joan Baez remains a musical force of nature whose influence is incalculable. Her earliest recordings fed a host of traditional ballads into the rock vernacular, before she unselfconsciously introduced Bob Dylan to the world in 1963 and focused awareness on songwriters ranging from Woody Guthrie, Dylan and many more. A new collection of songs reflects the momentous times in which Joan finds herself these days, and in her own words, "speaks to the essence of who I am in the same way as the songs that have been the enduring backbone of my repertoire for the past 50 years" .

Angel Band
Friday
Sept 24
8 PM
Gen Admission $18
KAC members $15 |
Angel Band makes big noise. Whether it's the crazy tight three part harmony, the killer backup playing, the stories, the passion or the compassion, it gets your attention. The songs are mostly self-penned, weaving vivid images, powerful lyrics, musical integrity and "chops" to write home about. The core of the band is held by the three singers: Nancy Josephson, Aly Paige and Kathleen Weber. Both mystical and elemental when the three hit "it" the hair on the back of your neck's gonna stand up. The difficult to pigeonhole sound that emanates from the band roams from old time "mountain" music to contemporary rock and roll influenced originals. You'll hear a fusion of folk, roots, blues, country and gospel-tinged throw downs. Any way you slice it this band catches hold of you and won't let go.

The Burns Sisters
Friday
Nov 26
8PM
Gen Admission $18
KAC members $15 |
You can think about the Burns Sisters in descriptive terms – powerful songs,
gorgeous sibling harmony, a distinctive blend of folk, country, and rock styles —
but their essence is spirit, soul, if you will. Marie, Jeannie and Annie Burns sing
together and their music follows an inner path they know by heart. Every song is tied to the center of things, to the everyday hunt for warmth on a cold planet, to family and history and blood.
Truly, a KAC favorite !
